L.E.D. lighting just wow!

LED lighting. OH YEAH! Though there is nothing sexy about the term light emitting diode they are in fact, well, truly sexy! So apart from talking about photons, or their progress since 1962 or the concept of electroluminescence I will just say that these little buggers are just full of amazingness.These little lights are starting to pop up everywhere and as the production of them becomes cheaper they are definitely showing up in some new and amazing places... Anyone want to play show and tell? I have put together just a tidbit of what I could find out about these amazing little lights and i think you will be surprised. These are definitely not your stereo power light circa 1989!

For the millions of people pedaling away on bicycles trying to save the planet, trying to stay healthy, trying to save money or that matter simply being awesome this is for you! Below some video links to some of the coolest applications of these little things I think I have ever seen!

Here is the Monkey Electric Video Pro which will set you back about two grand per system but if you decide that you need to light graffiti the wheels of your bike with custom animations paved in light I guess you will have to pay a little bit for it!



Luckily for the rest of us out there there is a plethora of variations of this that are still really cool! Like this crazy number for $99 from Anvii that is still crazy customizable and looks awesome!



Then it's back to Monkey Electric with their non-customizeable but still awesome $65 dollar version that is non customizable but makes amazing patterns as you roll down the road....



If these are still crazy pricey there is the much cheaper but not quite as fun Hokey Spokes which go for about $20 mind the cheesy video though!



Then are of course many more options for your wheels such as nifty LED wheel gauge lights and many others that can help with bike safety and will just in general look cool while you ride at night! Though not all of us are bike bound these days especially not with our passion for driving! Check out this amazingly cheesy video promo for the new PimpStar LED wheel by DUB. Don't forget to notice the bad driving and cheesy sexual innuendos employed!



There are of course about a million other applications for this technology that are emerging... I mean is there ever really enough ways to light up our lives? LEDs Seem to really be popping up just about everywhere! They are finding their way into the strangest places... Windows, tables, and even behind our tv! This technology is truly becoming more and more interesting! And as the technology progresses they are really doing some interesting things with it!

Like for instance check this out! I have no idea what you would do with it but this would look cool in any house! New table anyone?



Or just imagine the windows of your house or the glass in your shower being made out of this! Just mind the dramatic video!



Or imagine this as the new large wall size painting or wall divider in your home.



And then there's this! I think I must have an entire wall of them for the dancing!



With all of these amazing options out there you can probably see why LEDs are quite sexy! Science is not just for geeks anymore!

So I have just started this thing with the intent on writing something interesting, or even better observing something interesting,,, Or writing about the things that I observe that are interesting.... I do intend to stay anomynous (hehe)... For now all I can say is that trying new things is strangely strange and awkwardly difficult and all I can rant about is my own agenda... Soo... Uhh... Rant... (I seriously thought there would be more ranting here)... Alas the time will come... But as for today I will settle for just welcoming myself to this new world of distraction and calling it a good time...
